Nano Gap Circuit

Nano Gap Circuit
Dec-10-11
The wires in the world's smallest electronic circuit are only about 150 atoms apart, a development that could revolutionize the world of computing.

Created by a team from McGill University in Montreal, the circuit allowed researchers to study for the first time how wires packed so tightly interact with each other. They discovered the wires are able to affect each other, producing currents in either direction.

The team's discovery could make it possible to create circuits that can harness waste heat from neighboring wires, allowing the system to run cooler and more efficiently.
