Problem for the Common Good

Disposal of Nuclear Waste

Outline:
Nuclear Power Plants will ultimately increase in the US & the world. We need to find a viable, safe & economic way to dispose of/utilize this waste.

The Problem:
All nuclear power plants ultimately will produce radioactive waste. We must find a way to dispose or "harness" this waste. The current "solution" of placing/burying it in the ground, is not a real solution, it only delays or hides the problem.

Criteria that must be met in order for the problem to be considered solved:
1) Radioactivity is converted 100% to useful work
2) Waste is disposed safely & economically
3) Waste is no longer considered a "hazard" to environment

What will be done once a good solution has been found:
Present it to state & federal government as a viable path to US/world energy independence on foreign & domestic oil.
